All one needs to do is go online and visit the official PAN card websites to complete the process. This includes filing the form as well as submitting the photograph and supporting documents.

Instructions for Filling PAN Card Application Online 

Visit the official website https://www.utiitsl.com/UTIITSL_SITE/index.jsp. Under menu go to Services->PAN Card->Apply pan card.


You need to fill the Form 49A online as per the instructions given.




Make sure you check the application and edit any errors or corrections and re-submit the form.





  • You will be taken to the confirmation screen where you can choose to confirm or edit the data filled in the form.
  • Once confirmed, you will get an acknowledgement receipt on the screen. The acknowledgement number is a unique 15-digit number.
  • You have to save and take a print out of this acknowledgement receipt.
  • Applicants who have a valid II or III Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) issued by an authorized Certifying Authority (CA) will be able to use their digital signature for the application.
  • In case of individual applicants, the DSC of the applicant is used for signing the application digitally. Minor, lunatic applicants, require the DSC of their parents or guardian who are their Representative Assesse whose details have been entered in the applicant.
  • The digital sign should bear the name of the applicant or Representative Assesse just as mentioned in the application form.
  • Make sure you attach all the scanned photographs, signatures, and supporting documents such as Proof of Identity (POI), Proof of Address (POA), Proof of Date of Birth (PODB).
  • The photograph and supporting documents such be scanned as per the parameters prescribed. The resolution should be 200 DPI, colored photograph and signature, the documents in black and white, file type should be JPEG for photograph and signature, documents in JPEG or PDF. The maximum file size should be 20 KB for photograph should be 20 KB, signature 10 KB and documents about 300 KB per page. 
  •  You can make the payment online by using Credit Card or Debit Card as well as Net Banking facility.
